MKN has awarded a Gold Partner award to kitchen design, installation and maintenance specialist ABM Catering Group, in recognition of its performance with the German manufacturer over the last 12 months.

ABM has just recorded its best-ever year, thanks in part to a major project to install MKN combi steamers into Welsh schools to support the rollout of Universal Free School Meals (UFSM). It was one of the distributors given contracts by several local authorities in Wales to install MKN combi steamers into school kitchens before the start of the new school year.

ABM worked closely with MKN, who delivered the appliances alongside oven sizing, enhanced product training, menu development, on-demand support and technical expertise as part of a best-practice programme to meet increased demand due to UFSM.

Now the Group has been recognised by MKN as the only UK distributor to reach the sales threshold for a Gold Award in MKN’s new global partner recognition scheme. Six other distributors in the UK were presented with Silver Awards.

Wayne Bennett, VP of Sales and Marketing UK and Ireland for MKN said: “We have a long history of working closely with dealers and distributors in the UK, and we’ve always been quick to recognise our best-performing partners.

“However, ABM is the first UK partner in a new global initiative that has seen around 30 companies from across the world given an award to mark their continued commitment to and trust in the MKN product range.”

Andrew Bladon Sales Director for ABM Catering Group said: “We’re delighted to be recognised in this way by MKN. The project to install MKN combi steamers into schools across Wales was one of the largest we’ve ever taken on and was a major contributing factor in our success in the last 12 months.”
